A leak flag means a leaked file was matched to a copy you sent this reader. It shows whose copy it was. It doesn't prove who shared it, because a copy can be forwarded or an account can be shared.

## How a flag is added

1. Open **Leak Detector** from the left sidebar and check the leaked file or text.
2. If it matches a copy you sent to someone with an email address, click **Flag on reader profile**.
3. The button changes to **Flagged on reader profile**.

Flags are only added when you click that button. Nothing is flagged automatically.

## Where the flag shows

- On the reader's profile, in a **Copy traced to this reader** box listing the book, the date and a note.
- As a **Leak flag** badge on their row in **Reader Profiles**.
- As a **Leak flag** badge next to their name in **ARC Tracker**. Click it to open their profile.

## Clearing a flag

Open the reader's profile and click **Clear** next to the flag you want to remove. You need edit access to do this. Clearing a flag doesn't change anything in Leak Detector or Piracy Monitor.
